Clutch zero fault! Expert advice: It's better to cultivate correct usage habits than to maintain them in a time-consuming and laborious manner
Whether it is Dongfanghong, Lovol, Dongfeng, Gengwang, Changfa and other tractors, the clutch is one of the most common faulty components in use. After the clutch fails, most of them have to break their waist for maintenance, which is very inconvenient, time-consuming, and expensive. As a user, how can we reduce the failure of clutch components during use?
Strategy for reducing faults
Years of practical experience have shown that firstly, it is necessary to regularly adjust the clutch to meet technical parameters; The second is to use it correctly and cultivate good operating habits; Thirdly, do not overload the operation. Let's take the LUK clutch (14 inch, six claw independent clutch, separate and independent control of walking and power output, foot clutch control of walking, and hand clutch control of power output) equipped on 2004 tractors as an example to explain in detail: Firstly, the clutch after use should be regularly inspected and adjusted to meet the technical parameters requirements of the manual.
After using the clutch, the clutch will wear out, and after the clutch plate wears out, the head of the clutch pressure claw will expand and move outward. The gap between the original release bearing and the head of the pressure claw (normal clearance is 2-2.5mm) will decrease until it disappears, and the free stroke of the clutch pedal will also decrease until it disappears. At this time, the free stroke of the clutch pedal needs to be readjusted, which can easily cause clutch slipping or even disc burning if not adjusted.
The free stroke of the main clutch (walking clutch) pedal refers to the distance that the pedal moves from the free state of the main clutch to the start of the main clutch separation.
The free stroke of the secondary clutch (power output clutch) cable refers to the distance that the secondary clutch cable moves from the free state of the secondary clutch to the start of separation of the secondary clutch.
Adjustment of the free stroke of the main clutch
Loosen the locking nut, rotate the adjusting sleeve, change the effective length of the pull rod, and adjust the free stroke of the pedal to 19-24mm (different vehicle models have different data, please refer to the tractor manual for details. At this time, the gap between the main clutch press claw head and the release bearing end face is 2-2.5mm). After adjustment, tighten the locking nut.
Adjustment of the free stroke of the auxiliary clutch
Loosen the locking nut, turn the adjusting nut to change the effective length of the cable pull rod, and adjust it to: the free stroke of the cable is 3.5-4.5mm (different vehicle models have different data, please refer to the tractor manual for details. At this time, the clearance between the head of the auxiliary clutch press claw and the end face of the release bearing is 2-2.5mm). After adjustment, tighten the locking nut.
When the above adjustment method cannot achieve the free stroke of the clutch, it indicates that the clearance between the release lever head and the release bearing end face is not ideal. At this time, the observation hole cover plate on the flywheel housing should be opened, and the release claw adjustment nut should be turned with a wrench to make the distance between the head of the three main clutch pressure plate release rods and the installation surface of the flying wheel 103-103.5mm; Ensure that the distance between the head of the release lever of the three auxiliary clutch pressure plates and the mounting surface of the flywheel is 137-137.5mm. After adjustment, tighten both locking nuts. The corresponding three pressure plate separation rod heads should be in the same plane with an error of no more than 0.2mm. Then adjust the free stroke according to the free stroke adjustment method.
2、 Properly operate and use the clutch, cultivate good operating habits
When the clutch is fully engaged, it can transmit the maximum design torque. If it cannot be fully engaged, there will be a semi linkage phenomenon, and the clutch plate will slip. Therefore, when the tractor is working or walking, the driver should not place their feet on the clutch pedal or use the semi linkage of the clutch for a long time to control the speed. If the clutch is always half pressed, it will cause a decrease in the clutch's ability to transmit torque, causing the clutch plates to slip and even burn.
For example, in 2016, a cooperative in Hebei province had a similar incident. A cooperative purchased 8 1004 tractors at once, equipped with a bundling machine, and on the first day of work, 4 vehicles burned the clutch plates. The manufacturer was shocked and thought that there were a batch of problems, so they took it seriously. The technical personnel rushed to the scene overnight. After arriving at the scene, the technical personnel accompanied the vehicle to check the driver's work situation and found that the driver used the clutch to control the speed, The left foot kept stepping on the clutch without leaving, and the truth came to light. It was caused by improper use and operation. Fortunately, the manufacturer took care of the three guarantees because the cooperative was a major customer, otherwise the losses would be huge. So it is necessary to cultivate good operating habits and not to keep your feet on the clutch pedal or use the semi linkage of the clutch for a long time to control the speed.
3、 Do not overload work
The maximum torque that a clutch can transmit depends on the maximum compression force between friction surfaces, friction surface size, number of friction surfaces, friction material, and friction coefficient For a clutch with a certain structure, the maximum torque that can be transmitted is a fixed value. When the input torque reaches this value, the clutch will slip, limiting the torque applied to the transmission system and preventing overloading. When the tractor is operating under overload, exceeding the maximum torque that the clutch can withstand can easily cause the clutch plate to slip. If the clutch plate slips for a long time, it will burn out. Therefore, it is necessary to avoid overload operation as much as possible.
